Do these symptoms sound like they could be due to an intolerence or allergy?

I've been struggling with thick excess mucus in my throat for months. The last few days I was eating a really basic diet. Id pracatically eliminated dairy and was hardly eating bread. This didn't get rid of the mucus or the cough but I did notice a reduction in the mucus.
Yesterday I ate more normally and had quite a bit of cheese and a coffee with milk. I also had a sandwhich with white bread and butter. Does this sound like it could have something to do with what I am eating and should I be cutting out dairy or something else. Would really appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Just to add. I occasionally cough and sneeze with these symotoms but as I say they've been going on for months. I have bad spots all over my face and feel sluggish most of the time with lots of aches and pains.

Hi, I suggest taking a daily antihistamine, loratadine or cetirizine.
This alone might help. But making better food choices will also benefit.

Just based on my own allergies and symptoms, that is more what I experience from environmental allergens like pollen and leaf mould. My non-ige food allergens don't result in sinus symptoms. Ige is another set of symptoms again (anaphylaxis). But that's just me, everyone is different. 🤷‍♀️

Daily antihistamine is a good place to start, as PP mentioned.
