Eggs suddenly making me sick?

I’ve had fried eggs and poached eggs in the last week and have been sick within minutes of eating them.

I seem to be ok with scrambled and hard boiled eggs.

I’m 40. Is it possible to suddenly become allergic to a food that you’ve been eating all your life?

I have an egg allergy and vomit immediately after consuming eggs so it does sound like you’re allergic. I have heard of people randomly becoming allergic to something so maybe it’s worth getting an allergy test?

Thank you.

It’s strange that I’m ok with hard boiled and scrambled eggs. Must be something in the runny yolks in fried and poached eggs.

You definitely can develop allergies later in life rather than just as a child. I have an egg allergy but it's strange in that it's similar to what you've described. If I ate a boiled or a poached egg I'd throw up. If it's included in something like a cake, I wouldn't. But if there's a tiny bit of actual egg like in egg fried rice, I can tolerate that.

Yes, it’s a bit strange that I can tolerate scrambled eggs but not poached or fried. I wonder if cooking them thoroughly removes whatever but I’m having issues with.

I've developed a problem with eggs after my third child. Weirdly he also had a problem with eggs and was found to be mildy allergic to yolks, not whites!!

I can't eat soft boiled eggs or poached, basically the yolk must be well done. Gutted as its my favourite 😢

I think it's due to an enzyme in raw yolk, I had it when I ate an undercooked boiled egg, not been brave enough to eat eggs since but have had it in cakes like others say!

I’m the same. I adore eggs, but at some point through my 30s I became intolerant to them. Raw cake mix, poached eggs, soft boiled eggs are all out. An overdone fried egg I can have about once or twice a month. I get nasty stomach cramps and an upset tummy

After my 1st was born i developed a random intolerance to eggs. Took a few months to work out what it was but id be doubled over in stomach pain and my back would be agony aswell. I kept eating them and it went away oddly!
