Hay fever and/or pet allergy symptoms?

My DD had corona back in April (tested positive), got better but developed a cough a couple of weeks later after she'd been outside. Doc thought it was post viral. Cough carried on for a month, then we got a new pet. She was prescribed a nasal spray, then inhalers. Cough stayed and then started sounding really nasally and snotty, bit of a sore throat (stuff in her throat), some ear pain and forehead pain. Now she's on an antihistamine but nothing is working. She's had the cough for over 2 months and coldy symptoms for a month or so. All this has been done over the phone with the doctor!
Are these usual allergy symptoms? She's fine otherwise, just a bit tired at times. I have many allergies but my symptoms are sneezing and itching. She hasn't sneezed at all.

Sounds quite similar to my DD’s hay fever which has been particularly bad this year. She rarely sneezes however has had a mucous cough all of grass pollen season, dr thinks this is caused by hay fever related post nasal drip. DD has also had some occasional forehead (sinus) and ear pain like your DD.

No meds really working for us either! Hoping to start immunotherapy to get rid of the allergy once and for all as the one antihistamine that does help her makes her drowsy :( We find that keeping her room and the house very clean helps a bit but no huge differences, we may invest in an air filter and see if that is of any use.

Thanks, doc thinks also a possible pet allergy. So far, antihistamine and nasal spray not working. Hoping to get an allergy test once we can be seen in person
