dust and air purifiers

I did not know where else to put this. I do not have hay fever or an allergy to dust or asthma but I get a lot of dust at home. I live in a flat. I am not sure if this has always been the case, probably yes, but today I was dusting and noticed for the first time dust floating around in the air. I guess it was because the sun was shining and it made it more noticeable. I was shocked. I dust and hoover regularly but obviously that is not enough. Would an air purifier be the way to go because I do not want to breathe in dust in the air. I air my place regularly
