Nutramigen and vomiting?!!

My son is now 10 months and occasionally will vomit with retching etc only before bed. This doesn’t happen any other time except bed no matter what amount he takes. It doesn’t happen every night but often enough for me to wonder what could be going on. For background he hasn’t really ever had a routine as he tended to snack on milk and I’ve now established a routine to try get him
To take more milk. Our schedule is something like this.

6am - bottle 3oz and back to sleep until 7:30
8:30 breakfast usually one weetabix and 2oz milk
9:00 3oz then because I want this bottle to be more at
9:30 3oz and nap
12 lunch usually different doesn’t eat much
1:30 4oz which i want to increase to decrease bottles given so I give another at
2:00 3oz before nap
5:00 dinner usually eats very well with dinner
6:30 4oz
7:30 4oz and bed.

Where am I going wrong???

Hi Curses

We also give nutramigen to our son, currently 7 months old, and had issues with small vomits in the early days but not now. How do u prepare the formula? We use boiled water that has cooled to room temp, usually takes around an hour and a half then use that to make up the feed. I do this once a day but I know lots of people don't like to do that. The dietitian told me to do it that way after I mentioned lots of vomiting. There is a probiotic (I think) that needs cooler temperatures to stay active, which helps the stomach stay healthy.

I'd also space out your sons feeds with loads of distractions, to try to increase the oz per feed. We have 4, 5-7oz feeds a day but he does take a night feed as well.

Perhaps give his last bottle a bit earlier so that he's not laying down completely full...I'm not sure!

Good luck Smile

@Firsttimelondonmum thanks for your reply. Yes we make the bottle with half hot water from
Kettle then powder then cool with sterile previously boiled water that we cool in fridge. So do you make the milk up with cooled water? She doesn’t have any problem apart from at night. No matter how long between feeds she doesn’t take more than 4oz hence putting two 3oz close together because 6oz is around what she should have per bottle.

Also. She doesn’t lay down at night when she’s sick doesn’t get that far it’s when I wind her she does a huge burp followed by lots of sick. Yes she still needs winding as she struggles :/
