Allergy to pine shavings?

Hi, I haven't been on Mumsnet for years but really need some help/advice please.
About 2 months ago I became allergic to I think the pine shavings from our 2 guinea pigs bedding, it was isolated to one room, the pets have since been re homed but my allergy has spread to anything that was in the same room as the pets and is affecting all the family. I am constantly cleaning and washing and am taking medication but my allergy is still pretty bad.

I've been told the waiting time for testing is 18 weeks so I have a while to go and really don't know what to do. Has any one else come across this? How do I get rid of it?

Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.

What are your symptoms? Might help to recommend some over the counter medications.

Hi, itchy eyes, runny, stuffy, burning nose, hoarse throat, cough. I've been using beconase nasal spray, eye drops and fexofenadine which has been increased to 180mg a day. I can't seem to get it all under control and the antihistamines make me feel so sleepy. I tried cetirizine before and could not stay awake.

If you know of anything else can try, please let me know, getting a bit desperate.
