I am a coeliac and have a four month old baby. I have been advised by my health visitor not to give my baby gluten until he is a year old, and to then introduce it gradually. I would love to her from any other coeliac mums out there and to hear how you dealt with this with your own children.

i am going in next week to be tested for coeliac disease. Have suspected it for a while so did not give ds anything with gluten until 12 months and I am being very careful with it even now. I think he has only tried one teething biscuit and some baby spinach lasagna so far but that seemed to go well. It hasn't seemed to be difficult as we just concentrated mainly on fruits and vegetables (and a bit of chicken once he was 10 or 11 mos. old). You've still got at least 2 months before you need to introduce solids anyway so I wouldn't rush things at all. Will make it easier on you and ds.

Hi Fawn. I have coeliac disease and have DD of 2 and DS of 11mths and they are both on a gluten free diet. Find it really easy as I have been reading labels for years now and know what is safe. If you have any questions, please post them and I shall answer them. I did write a list of a typical day for another mother (Happy1) whose son was listless. The thread is under "Behaviour" I think. If you do a search on Happy1, you will find it.
