Anyone know if it's the same as here, so it will be easy for me to see which products contain milk, which we need to avoid?

It's pretty much the same, in my experience, and quite often products that are sold internationally will have English ingredients lists as well as the French. I didn't find they tended to have the useful Allergens box though, so a lot of reading of tiny ingredients lists was necessary. Make sure you have a list of the French for all the milk derivatives, though (whey etc)

Ah, it was the allergens box I was asking about really. No hope of me finding out all the French words for milk products unless someone on here knows them.

Thanks wb.

Using Google to translate a web page that has a list of milk products, I came up with this:

Beurre - butter
Lait en poudre - milk powder
Huile de beurre - butterfat
Lait écrémé en poudre - skimmed milk powder
Caséine de calcium - Calcium casein
Solides du lait - milk solids
Caséine - casein
Solides du lait sans matières grasses - Non-fat milk solids
Fromage - cheese
Caséinate de sodium - sodium caseinate
Crème - cream
Poudre douce de lait - Sweet whey powder
Lait déminéralisé - Demineralised whey
Lait - milk
Lactalbumine - Lactalbumin
Concentré de protéine de lactalbumine - Whey protein concentrate
Crème légère - Light cream
Solides de lait - Whey solids
caséinate d'ammonium - ammonium caseinate
caséine hydrolysée - hydrolysed casein
protéine du lait hydrolysée - hydrolysed milk protein
matière grasse du lait - milk fat

I know some French, and I'm pretty sure this is accurate. The main words you're looking for are lait, caséine, fromage and crème - plus most things beginning with lact- like in the UK.

Sorry for the long post, hope this helps!

If you need any other specific ingredients translated, let me know - I'm away from my computer this afternoon but I'll be back this evening.

Oh thank you so much Mumfie. Will print off the list and take it with us.
