Itchy Legs & Nothing Works... Please Help..

Hello all!
I hoping people might be able to help/ share their experiences etc.

18months ago, I made the worse decision ever by opted for a leg wax. From that, I had folliculitis, which was awful! Even once the infection eventually cleared, I was still left with insanely itchy skin. It took 6 months for me to finally get to see a dermatologist who said that I just needed to find something that worked on Re-moisturising my legs as they’ve lost moisture and become incredibly dry. I found a combo of petroleum jelly and e45 cream worked. That was last January and that combo worked right up until November, where out of the blue, the folliculitis returned. After 7weeks and 3 courses of antibiotics, the infection finally went, but again I’m left with incredibly itchy skin.
The old combo of PJ & e45 no longer works and I’ve actually realised/believe that I’m now, suddenly, allergic to e45!! Application of it causes my skin to itch, burn, prickle, swell, and I’ve even had a pustule-ulcer type thing appear. I also have an issue with circulation in my lower legs that not helping and apparently causing some of the issues with my itching (dermatologist mentioned it last year, I’ve noticed it more much recently).
It’s not as simple as stop using the e45 though, as now I cannot find an alternative.
I’ve tried Aveeno skin relief lotion, Aveeno Dermexa cream, Cetraben cream, Vaseline repair lotion and a Tesco own brand lotion. Petroleum jelly still seems to help slightly but not alone, I need to top it with something. I’ve been using the Vaseline but that’s making my skin prickle too.

I don’t know what to do or try. There’s obviously something in these lotions and creams that’s affecting me. I can’t afford to keep trial and error-ing.
It’s also really affecting me and how I feel.
I feel so low.
I can’t take my mind off my legs and how much they burn/ itch/ etc.

Has anyone had anything similar and found some kinda miracle cure?? Please?Sad

You poor thing! Could you go to the GP and ask for allergy testing?

I am suffering with similar to you. My legs have big red patches of red, sore flaking skin, especially on the inner thighs, but it is not chub rub as I am slim!
I sat on the sofa and can feel my arms getting covered in rashes.
Last summer I found that the sunshine and Epsom salt baths helped. Eurex cream also helped calm the itching.
My legs always get worse in the Winters, which makes me think it may be fungal or moulds causing it.
I had biopsies taken last Summer and get the results back soon, but it had calmed way down, and it is angry and sore at the moment.

My Drs won’t do alllergy testing, it is very depressing.

They just say it is due to stress!

I hope you get more help.
I have tried steroid creams and it clears it and then it comes back even worse!!

I think I need to live in a warm country with no stress!

Calmurid is very good and works for me, I think you can get it over the counter.

What are you washing with? Shampoos and shower gels can be really irritating, as can bathing showering too often.

Try strip washing- just doing your armpits underbust and groin- with something like dermol.

Your skin needs a chance to rebalance itself.

Did you know we are covered in microbes? When they get out of balance it takes a while to get back to normal.

I literally just came here to post the same thing!

I’m sure mine is my follicles too OP. I am going insane with the itching and burning right now too 😭
I did get it to clear up some months back with using just everything Aveeno to wash in and put on my legs - first time it did burn as so inflamed but this time Aveeno is not working - nothing is working

Avoid anything with SLS in it by the way

Sudocream does work for me overnight actually but the moment my legs get wet again in the shower the itching comes back
