Cold Urticaria

My 2 year old has recently been diagnosed with cold urticaria and I am looking for anyone else with experience of this and hints and tips on how to deal with it.

He has been taking anti-histamine for about 6 months and that has reduced the attacks of hives but as he doesn't talk much it has been hard ensuring that nursery notice the subtle symptoms of an attack and the worry of them accidently doing something that will bring on a severe attack.

Hi @jenniegrog , I know this is a rather late response. Hope your 2 year old has been coping alright with cold urticaria, I developed it last year. Main thing you can do is keep them in a warm environment, for going outside I would suggest having something breathable that covers their mouth and nose as that's probably the worst part if it affect their breathing. Other places to keep an eye out is swimming as this has a strong cooling effect on the body. Hope this helps, I would advise you to join one of the groups on facebook, there's a worldwide one as well as a UK one that people share their tips on.
