How was you celiac diagnosed?

Hi. Went to have a colonoscopy done today. Just had a bit of bleeding down there and am anemiac too. Thankfully it went well, no polyps and was told everything looked normal. Then the Dr asked if I'd ever been tested for CD. I replied no, she then took a biopsy to test for this. My question is that can CD be diagnosed with a colonoscopy? Am I getting worried for nothing?

It sounds like the Dr wasn't very good at explaining things. Perhaps she took a biopsy for something else as celiac disease is diagnosed by endoscopy, not colonoscopy.
Its the small intestine that's affected so pointless to biopsy the colon.
Tube has to go down the throat to get to the right area.

I know this is a few weeks old. But I thought another reply could still be useful. I agree with B&B it is diagnosed by endoscope. I’ve have cd since 2009. It was v difficult to begin with but easy peasy now. If you are diagnosed and need any advice I’m here!👋🏻🍀💙
