We had a scary experience on holiday in Spain today.. My dd age 5 had a severe allergic reaction and we took her to hospital where she had a massive injection (and very big needle) . She had a tiny bit of walnut for lunch, but is normally fine with nuts.

Yesterday I got her a doll (made in china) which she said started the itching when she brushed it's hair. It's part rubber/ latex. It's called an ice cream princess doll.

She had sneezing, coughing, watery eyes then hives all over. Pic of tummy and back attached.

She's always had bad reactions to stuff esp cheap nappies.
Any advice ?

Take her to your GP, with details about the walnut symptoms and treatment. Did she receive adrenaline? And photos of the rash. You will hopefully be referred for allergy testing to see if there's any risk of anaphylaxis with her reactions and if you'll need to carry epi pens. Good luck

Wow, that's some reaction, poor love!

I am allergic to latex. Latex and walnuts can have similar proteins in them. Also bananas and tomatoes.

I have to avoid lots of things, but am only at the point of having to carry anti-histamines.

Good Lucl.

Thanks for info. She didn't need adrenaline. Just weaning her off steroids now as it's been a week. Gp appointment is Monday. I hope we get an answer!
