I'm off on hoilday in two weeks time. My son is going to be a year old, i thought i would have his mmr when we get back just incase he's not well. A friend told me that you should'nt take a baby swimming unless he has had his mmr, can somebody please tell me that's not true.

I was told it was ok to go swimming after the 1st 3 vaccines but other mumsnetters have taken their babies earlier than that as well. Where are you going on holiday?

Everyone in NZ takes their babies swimming from 6 months and we don't vaccinate for MMR until 15 months, so there is no problem to leave that until you get back either.
