Feeling sick after eating bread

My 12 year old son always feels sick immediately after eating bread - sandwiches, bagels, burgers etc. He has immediate nausea, sometimes to the point of heaving, a couple of times he has actually been sick. If he has a drink he immediately feels better and the nausea goes away.

Could this be a wheat allergy or gluten intolerance?

Not sure about allergies or intolerances but my DS did go off bread before he was diagnosed as Coeliac. It didn't cause any particular reaction (it does now he is off it) he just went off it.
Sorry, can't help with allergy or intolerance advice though.

Does he have any other symptoms? Bowel problems? If he sees a pattern, it’s certainly worth discussing with a GP. Initial test for coeliac is a blood test. Don’t change his diet until he’s seen the GP though as it can result in false positives.

false negatives.
