Please can people share their experiences of this milk please? My 17 week old has been on it for just shy of two weeks and he is being frequently sick (watery acid smelling stuff even up to 3 hours after a feed) and his nappies are green slime. Is this normal? He has eczema on his arms and I’m not sure I’m seeing an improvement - should we be seeing improvements soon?

If it's CMPA, I would expect an improvement after 2 weeks. When do you next see the Doctor?

She said up to 8 weeks until the next appointment but a dietician would be in touch. Is the poo situation normal?

I've not used this formula as it's me that's got CMPA not the DC, but from what I've read on here, the green poo sounds normal.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with some experience Thanks

Not green poo. DS was always mixed fed, probably mostly breast but never gaff this issue. Similiac is extensively hydrolysed cows milk protein so it is still present, upon might need another formula to try.
Is his weight ok?

Gains weight beautifully. On the 75th and follows it beautifully. So babies on hydrolysed milk don’t have green poo it’s normal yellow??

My 7 month old was prescribed this at 3 months following ranitidine, thickener etc etc.

The relief was immediate, he drank a bottle then slept like a log in the middle of the day, it took him a few weeks to realise feeding wasn't going to hurt but now he is flourishing on it. He still had reflux and was very sensitive to the dosage of ranitidine so I had to weigh weekly and adjust the dose (at 3mg per kg).

His nappies were horrid, green and slimy as you say. We're weaning now so they've changed again. He is still sick/spitty I don't think it's reflux any more, just normal baby vomit.

It is a winner for us. PS there isn't a follow on formula so they'll stay on this version until 12 months

This is an extensively hydrolysed formula, so the next step with these symptoms would be to trial at least a few weeks on an amino acid formula, according to the NICE guidelines.

Green poo can be normal on these formulas but the acidic vomit is not. You might want to discuss something like ranitidine as well with your GP?

It’s the unsettled periods and acidic sick hours after a feed I’m worried about and his eczema doesn’t seem to be improving. I might add he’s on 1ml or ranitidine 3 times a day and omeprazole.
