Does your NHS records contain details of any allergies you have?

It would be a good idea for you to check.

Last year I had an investigation which involved something I was allergic to. I told them and they ignored it and I had a reaction to it. When I complained I was sent a letter saying that my records did not have a note of that allergy. I do not know why that is because it was not due to my not telling them over the years, and it was a great shock that they could disbelieve me because it was not in writing in my records.

There is no single NHS record. Before any procedure they should ask again.

Whenever my GP opens my file on the computer a great big red box flashes up in the middle of the screen announcing my Amoxicillin allergy.

cherrypavlova you are absolutely right, but they have to take notice of what you say and they obviously do not. I have the letter from them telling me it is not on my records so they went ahead.
