Allergic to gel nail varnish

Is anyone else allergic to gel nails? I get swollen, red and itchy fingers, only made better once the gel is removed

I love to have nice nails so it'd be great to hear what people use instead? Normal varnish is fine but chips so quickly!

My DF has this and it’s horrible isn’t it. I think if your regular nail varnish chips too easily, you might need a really good top coat.

Thanks, yeah it's rather annoying!!

It will be the acrylic in it. You’ll need to let medical professionals know, especially dental as they also use acrylic, if they ask about allergies.

Ah ok! Will do, thank you

I use stickers called jamberry, you heat them with a hairdryer to get them to stick and to 'set' them. I find them easier to apply and far less messy than nail varnish, and they last much longer - I can get 2.5-3 weeks out of them, especially if I file my nails and re-seal them after a week.

Full disclosure, I think they are technically an mlm, but I just buy them off eBay or the website!

Gel nail polish did horrible things to my nails. They went all thick and my nail beds went black! Not an allergy but still nasty!
