Memory foam mattress

Hello
Ive had a night time cough (only at night) for months. Tried reflux meds and had dust allergy test. Awaiting chest x ray results. On steroids which helps - missed one day and the cough came back.
My feeling is it is allergy induced asthma. As an adult ive never had asthma before. Im wondering if the new memory foam mattress we purchased around the time the cough started is the culprit. Is there an allergy test for the chemicals in the memory foam??
I need to sleep elsewhere but unfortunately the couch gives me a sore back and im loathed to replace the expensive mattress without knowing for sure!!!

Thanks

If the cough appeared the same time as the mattress, I’m guessing that could be the cause. I’ve heard of it happening with new sofas in the past.

Not sure if there’s a test though. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows Smile

Have you got a mattress protector on? If not get one, or a blanket between the mattress and the sheet and see if it eases the cough.

I have been googling this exact same thing today so interested to see if there are any other replies. I have been suffering on and off for the last month since getting a new memory foam mattress just before the cough started. However I cough in the day too and also when we stayed away at the weekend. I remember being like this when we had new carpets so I fear the worst! Think I will try another mattress protector as the one we have came with the mattress and doesn’t feel very thick.
