Nut allergy labelling

After the recent deaths in the media from allergies due to inadequate labelling are people still trusting the 'may contain' labels to not mean 'actually could well contain'? My 21 year old DD is getting very anxious. Finding it difficult to find some products eg Rice Krispies, that don't have warnings so she doesn't want to risk it anymore. Never mind going out to eat :-(

As a nut allergic person for many years I've had to come to terms with the fact that 'may contain' equals dangerous. Most chocolate is too high a risk, Indian and Chinese food is too risky, many cereals are out of bounds. Restaurants are a nightmare.

Hopefully things will change but at the moment we have to take care.
