Allergenics caused HUGE flare-up... but eczema now looks much much better??!

DS (16 weeks) has had eczema steadily getting worse since about 8 weeks. Had tried steroids plus usual range of emollients: Epaderm, Cetraben, Diprobase, Aveeno, etc etc... nothing helped and some even made it worse.

On Monday we went back to GP who gave us Allergenics as it's supposed to be 100% natural and non-reactive. On Tuesday DS started looking quite red and blotchy, we decided to give it one more day but after an awful night of screaming and no sleep, DS was bright red all over... by Weds afternoon his skin was hot and peeling (looked like awful sunburn), we took him to hospital where GP said to stop using Allergenics and just cover him in hydrocortisone (which we had already been using sparingly on worst bits).

However... yesterday his skin looked much improved and today it has been the best it's looked in many weeks... back to being mostly baby-soft with just a few red/dry patches. Is it possible that the Allergenics killed off the eczema, even though it had such a severe reaction? Or is it just coincidence that it has suddenly got so much better? Anyone had similar experiences?

that will be the all over steroid cream doing that.

Well, I did wonder if it might be but we have been using the same steroid (HC 1%) since the beginning, albeit in smaller quantities, and it has never had such a dramatic effect. But perhaps it was that after all...
