DS is allergic to dairy, beef, soy, potato and tomato. Probably other things too. He is 23 months, and currently breastfed for about 50% of his diet because he's an extraordinarily picky eater and I just can't get enough stuff into him.
I am severely allergic to shellfish, blossom fruit (apples, pears, stone fruit), avocado, hazelnut, macadamia...

We're going to visit family in Australia over Christmas. They're all of the "a little bit won't hurt, I made it specially just for him" "well if he reacts like that he's just badly behaved" "he shouldn't still be breastfeeding at THIS age" mindset.

At the moment DS lives on oat milk, porridge, fruit, bread + hummus (with veggies mashed up in it), and vegetable soup. And breastmilk. i make the soup and hummus in batches, and bake bread daily.

Can anyone suggest things I can cook or prepare in the PILs' kitchen on a daily basis that won't take up too much room in their fridge? We're going to have to provide DS' food for Christmas brunch/dinner too. I am so tired (DS doesn't sleep because of the allergies) that I've run out of ideas.

Oh forgot to say he won't eat rice. I think the issue is the texture - he just spits it out. Otherwise we'd just live on Japanese food (with no soy sauce).

Hiya Synohomony. I can’t imagine how exhausted you must be. Just wanted to say I’m allergic to potatoes and tomatoes, which means I’m also allergic to aubergines, chillies and peppers as they all belong to the same deadly nightshade group. You probably aren’t giving yr DS chillies just yet, but you might want to watch out for peppers? And with rice and him spitting it out, did you know a baby has to try something knew a whole load of times — I think it’s more than 20 but I can’t remember — before they will accept? So persevere with the rice if you can. I rely on rice, and plain chicken and fish. Though I can’t remember when you give babies what and at what age ... sorry I can’t think of any other recipes for you. Good luck xx

How about sweet potatoes? They aren’t related to potatoes I think. Will he eat eggs?

Rice pudding with oat milk? (Smoother and more porridgey than plain rice)
Pancakes (ditto)
Would he eat smoked salmon pâté (made without cream cheese) on toast / bread?
Dairy free risotto?
Omelette

Have you tried risotto? My little one won't eat rice but will eat a sloppy risotto (great place to hide veg as well because he's also a picky eater). He likes porridge and it's similar texture.
My DD has dairy allergy amongst many others and I tend to look for vegan recipes and adapt as needed. It is exhausting constantly having to think about what they're going to eat... i feel your pain!
