Hayfever and Diet

My hayfever has been really bad during the recent hot weather to the point that I'm getting barely any relief from antihistamines and decongestants. I was wondering if anyone has successfully managed to alleviate hayfever symptoms by making changes to their diet e.g. by cutting out wheat/dairy or other foods that may aggravate it. Any info on worthwhile dietary changes or tips on controlling symptoms would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Bearing in mind that at the moment we are peaking on the high pollen counts- i haven't found any relief by changing my eating habits.

I avoid brad, milk, strawberries and especially red wine as the tannins make me so ill at the moment.

I just live with the fact that there is going to be good and bad days! And soon it will be over!

PS- perhaps changing the kind of antieshtamine will help as it did with mine!

I asked my Mum about this as she was diagnosed as coelliac 2 years ago but cutting out all the wheat etc has made no difference at all to her hayfever - much to her disappointment!

Thanks for the replies
Interesting that cutting out wheat etc may not be the answer. Red wine definitely makes my hayfever worse as well, Dulwichdolly, as it inflames my sinuses even more - shame that it happens to be my favourite tipple!
