I think my DS may be allergic to cows milk. I am going to get him to a dr's to get this confirmed - but if it is, what do i do?

He has a bottle in the morning and at night, what would i substitute it for?

Is it normal for an allergy to just start after 14 months?

there are soya and hypoallergenic formulas available (sometimes on prescription) - your doctor /HV should be able to inform you fully.

depends why you think he is allergic - what his symptoms are. A true allergy can start at any time but temporary milk intolerance after a virus would be more likely. "Temporary" can be a variable time - probiotics and/or lactase may help to reduce the length of time. Good luck with your gp, they aren't well trained in allergy.

If your gp agrees you have a problem they will prescribe hypoallergenic or lactose free formula. If they try to give you soya don't take it until you have tried the others first - soy is linked to nut allergy.
