Can cow’s milk allergy come back at nearly 5?

DD had cows milk allergy with first exposure at 7 months when weaning with weetabix and milk. Hive reaction on skin contact. Used hydrolysed formula until about 18 months when we were guided up the milk ladder by allergy clinic Allergy completely went, no problems, DD big milk drinker, loves it. I completey forgot all about the dairy problem!

Today nursery teacher reported quite significant and sudden redness around mouth immediately after lunch and tea. I also noticed it last night. Still there now but gone down a bit. It’s rough and blotchy, looks like eczema. Quite wide spread.

Could the intolerance have suddenly come back?? It does look a bit like an allergic reaction, but not hives. Any insights welcome. Thank you!

Oh yes she was also troubled with eczema when intolerant of milk.

My friends DSs, came back at 5.
My DS reacts with eczema.
Maybe try and cut it out for a few weeks and see if it goes away?

Yes they defintely can. I’d take her to the GP tomorrow OP and discuss eliminating dairy again and get a referral to a Paediatric Dietician Smile

Thank you so much, both of you! I've been so busy over the last few days I hadn't checked back to the thread. I appreciate your input and will follow up with GP visit (had gone down now, and no further response, but she has this weird patch of eczema type redness right by her lip... better to check).

Thanks!
