DS has a rash on the inside of his legs - take to GP?

DS has a rash on the inside of his knees and further up on both sides which he has had for about a week I guess now. It is rough feeling - feels like a graze but is not. I have stopped using baby bath and shampoo etc. to see if that helps, but should I take him to GP? It doesn't seem to bother him and no one on either side has eczma (sp?) or anything...

I would prob go to gp if it doesn't clear up after some time, but not rush there

has he got chubby legs? It sounds a bit like a friction thing, could it just be where his legs rub together in the heat?

How are you Quootie, it feels like I haven't 'seen' you for ages?

could be washing powder?

Quootiepie · 03/06/2007 08:14

He has chubby-ish legs, I thought friction because it seemed a little better after wearing PJs instead of a bodysuit one night. Don't think it's washing powder as he hasn't had it before. I am ok, just been busyand trying to catch up on sleep alot!

Was it a hot day when it began? It does sound a bit like a heat rash

good to hear you are ok

Quootiepie · 03/06/2007 08:25

erm... I can't remember. It's not like red pin pricks, it's 2 or 3 about inch long pink bits that are rough surrounded by hard pin prick like things - so hard to explain! Feels like sandpaper.

ooooh

don't know then

misdee · 03/06/2007 08:44

sound like it could be eczema, i'd take him to the GP.

belgo · 03/06/2007 08:48

take him to the GP, but as Franny says, no need to rush there. Make an appointment tomorrow.

I have noticed it has gone down alot since stopping baby bath, shampoo and baby wash - I guess i'll still take him to GP tomorrow though. x
