Allergic to Neocate maybe???

My LO has been on Neocate for over 6 weeks now, still sounding congested, Eczema seems to be getting worse & now he’s coming out in a rash on his arms. Do you think we need a change of formula? He has suspected CMPI which is all new to me Any advice would be so helpful...thank you

How old is he OP? Are you Weaning along with the Neocate?

My DS had horrific eczema at 6 months. He has several allergies, which make his skin worse, but does also just have eczema. Once we got the food side sorted there was massive improvement but he still had eczema. We were referred to the dermatologist and this is what helped ...

1. steroids on a strict weaning off routine (daily for 3 weeks, then every other day for 3 weeks, then twice a week etc)
2. daily bath always using special oil to keep skin moisturised
3. moisturise after every nappy change
4. cotton clothes and never put on new (always wash first)
5. we have to be careful with washing powder, some make his skin so bad! He was red raw after I used Persil. We now use Ecover and no fabric conditioner.

I hope that helps. I suffer too and so I know how everyone is different, it is trail and error.
When it first happened we were trying every bit of advice at the same time, and couldn't tell what was helping and what was causing flare ups. A year in and he looks so much better and is much happier.

He’s 15 weeks & I've not started weaning, as waiting on the dietitian appointment.

It is possible to not tolerate neocate. My guy doesn't tolerate neocate at all well so is on alfamino.
