Cows milk intolerance/ reflux

My 10 week only has recently been prescribed Aptamil pepti 1 from the GP (also using a thickener) after trying first milk, comfort milk, anti reflux and Gavisgon. He is very unsettled and wakes every time he is put down to sleep. He has alot of wind and screams uncontrollably for alot of the day. His nappies are almost the consistency of water? He has been on the Aptamil for 9 days now with no improvement.

Should i explore treating the reflux or requesting a fully dairy free formula?

I will be speaking to his dietion tomorrow but would just like some idea before as i dont want to be fobbed off anymore.

Thank you

@Megan971 how did you get on with the milk? My son has just been prescribed SMA Althéra and his tummy is very upset. I'm just hoping it will settle down. Thank you

Thing is, is it only dairy he is affected by? My ds had multiple food allergies including dairy/wheat/eggs/nut/fruit, so he never became well until he was finally referred to and tested by allergy specialist. Just avoiding something without proper test and taking meds like omeprazole prescribed by gp didn't work for him.

@irvineoneohone I see. No my son has not shown any immediate allergies, yes he was tested this week. They think CMPA so changed milk. So far he is still struggling but it's early days I guess

Egg, wheat and milk caused delayed reaction in my ds's case, like diarrhea. Only semolina and certain fruit had immediate reaction, which we didn't find out until he started having solids. But he always had runny poo and crying all the time.(due to pain, I assume.)

Hope it works out for you, seeing your little one in pain is really hard.
If he doesn't have severe eczema, which my ds did have since 1 week old, it might not be likely to be a multiple food allergy/intolerance. (I hope.)
