DS had GERD due to allergies. Resolved completely once we got on top of it.

My newborns suffering terribly with reflux / colic , well at least that’s what my doc says.... but not much help! Have any help in this one, seem loads of things on the web... do they work??? Help please?!?

Wheresthemanual01 · 31/05/2018 19:33

Well 4 days later after my cry for help.... I think I found it.
Doctor wasn’t particularly useful, but I did stumble across www.sootheyourbaby.co.uk. which has by far been the most useful place for help and advise to date... got a sleeping wedge, some colief and a stretchy wrap carrier (the wrap carrier is great for keeping things down!) and despite my apprehensions it’s helped massively.... would recommend anyone to give it a try...

It ended up being s dairy intolerance (initially passed through my breastmilk)

Ah I see, there’s really good advice for this on www.sootheyourbaby.co.uk.

Heii im so glad other people have this same problem its just a real shame for the kids :( my daughter is 5yrs old and she was being sick 19 times a day the past 12days we have managed to keep her of acid even though there is all sorts of acid in near enough everything so it has been a real struggle especially because she already now what food she likes and now is being told she can't have anything. But the other day a friend gave her ice cream and now for the last two days she's been being sick again :/ the doctor suggests we put her on medication to stop her being sick but I really don't want to go down that route.

Dd and I had GERD until it was discovered we were coeliacs, it resolved within days and has never been a problem since (over 7 years)

nogreenfingers · 09/06/2018 08:45

Does she have a dairy allergy?

I also had GERD for years until my coeliac diagnosis. Resolved completely, which was amazing.

Schroedingerscatagain · 09/06/2018 12:16

We were both dairy intolerant, however after a full reboot with quality pre and probiotics she can consume dairy freely, I am ok with smaller volumes but then my gut was very damaged

NicT123 · 17/06/2018 09:03

No she has no allegys to some dairy although cheese does make her sick. She can have milk and only a certain yoghurts but she can't have ice cream because of the acid. I did try her with 100% cheese babybells but that still made her vomit :/
