Hayfever - taken by surprise!

After months of gloomy weather, I have been surprised by the sudden onset of hayfever symptoms in my 3.5y old.
I noticed the runny nose yesterday afternoon and during the night he's been coughing up a lot of phlegm. He also coughed up his weetabix & a load more phlegm half an hour after eating it this morning. He is feeling really sorry for himself. I know it's related to the phlegm and hayfever and not a bug with the sudden onset after being outside all weekend.
I have dropped off his prescription for antihistamines and inhalers today but wondered if anyone had any tips for helping young children with hayfever - especially the coughing up phlegm at night which is so disturbing for both of us.
Thanks all!

Well, it was always going to hit hard when it did come. When we have a late spring it’s always like this. Every single thing seems to flower at once.

Haven’t got many tips. Have you tried giving him local honey and do you have a an air filter for his room?
