Will I be wasting GP time? (warning - pretty gross)

Hopefully this is the right place to post about this type of health issue. Not sure whether I should try to see a GP, or whether this is something I should be figuring out and just giving time

About 2 weeks ago I ate something (dairy) that was off without realising. I normally have a strong stomach and can eat just about anything. But for the next 24 hours had weird stomach cramps and sudden bouts of liquid poo.

After this I thought my stomach would gradually settle down. It has a bit but has changed. By now, I seem to have almost constant feeling like my stomach is full of gas, rippling discomfort. Farting like a trooper - and I mean, loud long farts that don't smell bad but are really frequent - every minute or 5 minutes and ongoing. Explosive poo about twice a day and it seems to be triggered by eating anything.

I will add in that my diet is very bad, because I have a binge eating disorder. Not unusual for me to eat 6-8 packets of crisps and a large chocolate bar and so on, in a short space of time. But even that hasn't caused what I'm experiencing before now.

I don't know what to do. I hate feeling like I'm wasting doctors time, but it's not going away. I had to come home from work today and it's ridiculous just sat there farting loudly for about an hour solid, then slept. Ate something - and it started all over again. I'm fed up with it.

Luckily I live on my own with a small child who thinks farts are hilarious..

Any advice?

No, you do prob need to see a GP - sounds like you could do with sending off a stool sample to see what’s going on.

Another vote for seeing the GP Smile
