Help! Cradle cap out of control!

Looking for some advice... my 4 month old has (what would appear to be!) really bad cradle cap. Anything we’ve tried seems to aggravate it and make it worse. He scratches his head really bad whenever he can get his hands to it - so much so he made it raw! We’ve previously been prescribed a mild steroid and an antibiotic cream. But the cradle cap is still there and obviously bothering him! I’ve tried the usual, oils, washing and brushing after but it’s quite persistent and looks really red after! Any advice would be greatly received... I don’t know what else I can do!!!

All I can suggest is coconut oil twice a day. Maybe a Caribbean hairdresser could help. They helped my daughter when she was a baby

Did you try Dentinox shampoo? My dd has eczema and had terrible cradle cap. I resisted using the shampoo for ages in favours of oils and creams but the shampoo sorted it in a few uses.

Yes have tried Debtinox too, but that (and everything!) makes his head so angry!!!! Did you notice any redness when using? WhAt shampoo did you use otherwise? Thanks for your help!

Dd is older now. I don't recall it making her head very irritated but I remember it did dry out her scalp quite a bit at first and i had to moisturize it.
She's always had a very dry scalp and these days I use a Eucerin shampoo on her when needed. As a baby I used Elave Baby Shampoo.
Because she has eczema and very sensitive skin we've had a lot of trial and error to find products that work.

Olive oil? I slathered that on my girls before bed then in the morning s bit more in, then just used mild baby soap and a wash cloth to rinse it. Dried hair with towel then used baby brush gently. It just came a bit at a time but it did come out. It took a few weeks.

I used to put warm olive oil on my dd's.
Leave it soften, then get a piece of light card to gently scrape off. If baby doesn't like you fiddling, leave oil on overnight and wash off in morning.
Then dentinox to wash off.

Another vote for coconut oil here. DS was admitted to hospital with another problem and the Paed brought up his cradke cap and suggested that we use coconut oil. Now DS is older he use t-gel shampoo.
