does anyone else use an ionizer for allergies?

ds2 has horrendous hayfever that affects eyes, throat, nose, chest and skin.

he is having all mediction available. would an ionizer do any good or ould i be wasting my dosh?

i have just posted on another thread about ionizers - found mine no help at all, this was about 4 years ago so technology may have moved on
i have found water is the key to washing the pollen away
