Bamba peanut snack

Hi I’ve been giving my 7 month old Bamba snacks on Dr advice after he passed a peanut challenge. I have never been told what the maintenance dose of bamba is however? I have also been given some unhelpful comments by a health visitor that it contains too much salt. But surely they are not recommending this for babies if it does contain too much salt? TIA

What do you mean by a peanut challenge and Doctor’s advice? It seems odd for a 7month old to have been given a peanut challenge unless there are some very specific reasons or it’s part of a trial.

There is peanut immunotherapy treatment in the UK but only on a private named patient basis and that uses clinical grade measured doses of peanut protein for all stages. I’ve not heard of anyone using Bamba or other peanut snacks for this kind of thing (although the very early trials of the immunotherapy did use M&Ms for the maintenance phase very early on I think).

I’m not sure about the salt content of Bamba, they’re a common toddler snack in Israel but I have also read stuff about them being high in fat and salt I think. Maybe go back and ask the doc who did the challenge and gave you the initial advice?
