Reaction to formula?

DD is almost 8 months and yesterday had her first taste of formula (aptimil). Today her eczema is worse than it's been in ages and we've had some skittery nappies(!) and bad nappy rash. I have been bf but would like to move over to mixed feeding. Does this sound like a reaction?

Have to say we also went swimming yesterday so wondering if that contributed although we've been before and it made no difference.

Yes, all that sounds like reaction to formula to me.

This is on my mind too, sorry not to have anything useful to say, just that I have 5 month old DS with eczema and I bf exclusively till 16 weeks, but he seemed very hungry so I tried SMA 1 x day. The following week his eczema became much worse, but I thought trigger was elastoplast that GP put on after final round of immunisations, as that's where it clearly welled up. So the jury's out... but I've just discontinued SMA and am looking for an alternative. Also wondering about cutting dairy out of my own diet, I can't see conclusive info that this helps, but interested in anything anecdotal. I did have a quick look through threads for this, apologies if it's a topic that's been discussed endlessly before.

It does sound like a reaction, although it could be the reaction to change in diet. It could be a milk intollerance. I found Aptimal and others very strong, I used Cow & Gate Organic as it has less added to it, like many have the fish oils etc, cow & gate Organic is just milk. It may be the fish oils?

And I apologise again, it's a few days since I checked this section and I see there has been a discussion on bf and dairy which I missed, and which answers my question.

Ooh very interesting about the fish oils because she has had a reaction to fish. So C&G organic is fish free then? Any others?

I only found C&G Organic free from fish oils, they tend to add everything possible to formala these days, can bee too much for litle tums sometimes.
