Dairy & Soya Intollerance

My little boy (now 15 months) has a dairy and soya intollerance which was diagnosed at 10 months. Since cutting these food groups out of his diet he has improved dramatically during the day and his ezcema has improved, but he still seems to really suffer with tummy ache and wind which wakes him through the night with quite hysterical results. I'm not sure whether this is just him or that it is a general side effect of his diet (he does have a lot of fruit and vegetables!). I just wondered if anyone else had a baby with the same intollerances what they were like through the night or with tummy ache?

Mine has them (both allergens were positive both in the tests for intollerance and allergies)

DS had those symptoms and others(without the waking up) before we removed dairy. But all the allergies have different presentations (I was told for ages DS couldn't be allergic to milk because he didn't have projectile vomiting or loose stools, however the perennial bloated tummy and constipation are gone since we removed milk). So it would be difficult to know what is causing it.

Have you thought of using a food diary?

Hi Chandra

Yes, I have kept a food diary, but his diet doesn't vary that much! He doesn't seem to get tummy ache every night, there seems to be a build up every 3 or 4 days which is why I thought it may be a side effect of his diet. Does DS not suffer badly with wind/tummy ache now?
