Should I try a wheat free diet?

I keep getting flare ups of spots on the backs of my upper legs and bottom and I swear these are at their worst when I've eaten a lot of bread.

I have always had spotty upper arms, since I can remember.

I suffer from very frequent low level headaches.

I am always tired and feeling a bit down.

I get loads of wind and have runny stools - I also 'go' a lot, several times a day, and when I need to go I need to go. And generally have a feeling of 'not right' in my stomach/intestines.

I'm contemplating trialling a wheat free diet to see if anything changes. Has anyone else had a similar situation and tried it?

Maybe you should get tested for coeliac first

I'm fairly sure I don't have coeliac as I had some more severe problems 10-15 years ago and I think they tested for that then. I wasn't going to cut out gluten completely, just wheat and see what happens.

Do you have coeliacs demented?

Go back and get retested for coeliac. It may not always show up in blood tests. Don't cut out wheat before you get tested as you need a good bit of gluten in your diet for testing to be accurate and other cereals might not contain enough gluten.
