Hi all

Need advice please.

Today our little girl was prescribed pepti 1 for milk intolerance.
Now I don't know if I should add some of it to her hungry milk to slowly get her used to it or just go straight in? Gp didn't advice anything regarding it.
I genuinely don't know which is better.

Does anyone have similar experience they could share?

Which did yiu decide guess?

guesswhosback · 14/09/2017 21:21

I actually got in touch with aptamil via what's app - great service on their part .. I messaged them and they responded within 45 minutes.. was advised to start using it exclusively straightway .
So I did and it worked after two feeds... our LO Is now lots less gassy and bloated and slept better last night. Hope it wasn't a fluke
Fingers crossed

So does she have CMPA then?

guesswhosback · 15/09/2017 11:40

And why not! And it's Friday..

Not CMPA just intolerance at this stage as she's bloated and gassy more than any other symptoms ..
just need her to poo poo poor thing

OP posts:
EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 15/09/2017 17:09

It does sound like CMPA. There's 2 types, ige and non-ige which I've got. With the latter you can get constipation, bloating, pain, mucus in the poo. Are you on any CMPA support groups? Smile

guesswhosback · 15/09/2017 17:46

Well I am going by what Gp said yesterday.

Hoping it's something she grows out of eventually but hey as long as she gets better now.

Iam not on any support groups but I will look into it. This is all new to me you see so need to do a bit of research.

Still no poo 😞

Soon be wine o'clock just waiting for OH to come home

Yeah, think the GP maybe giving you outdated info. Most people no longer refer to it as an intolerance, it's usually referred to as an allergy but is differentiated by ige and non-ige. Have a read of this on isitcowsmilkallergy.co.uk. Have a read and see what you think. Hopefully the poo will arrive on OH's watch Smile

guesswhosback · 15/09/2017 19:01

Thank you for the link.
I will have a read

How do you deal with it?

OP posts:
EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 15/09/2017 19:12

I deal with it by not eating dairy! Smile. It might be easier for me because I don't actually like it as I was undiagnosed for a long time so just associate dairy with stomach cramps and nausea.

Your lovely LO probably won't develop that association and there are lots of dairy alternatives to try too. Plus, eating out is much easier as all allergens have to be labelled. It can be difficult sometimes though as most people hear "dairy allergy" and say "we've got this cake, its gluten free".
