Was this an allergic reaction?

Bit puzzled by something that happened last night & last week as well and I'm not sure if it was an allergic reaction. Last week part of my lower lip swell up and went down eventually by itself. It was fairly noticeable as my colleague commented on it and felt like I'd had an injection at the dentist.

Yesterday evening two separate parts of my lower lip swelled up and felt very strange almost like I'd split my lip but I hadn't. I took some piriton syrup which we had left over in the house from a holiday last summer and it went down.

If it was a reaction I'm not sure what too, as I'm not to my knowledge allergic to anything.

It could well be an allergic reaction. Try writing down what you've eaten every time it happens and see if there's a common ingredient between each episode.

If it ever spreads into your mouth and you feel as though your tongue is swelling or throat tightening, seek medical attention straight away!

Yesterday I had toast and cashew nut butter about an hour beforehand and time before I had toast but with marmite - however I have toast every day with marmite and don't react. I wonder if DH had cashew butter that day. Some careful trying of cashews perhaps.

My Gran was anaphylactic to wasps and bees so there is a history of allergies in the family unfortunately.

Was it the same bread? If so, I'd look out for symptoms with that as well as the cashews.

It was the same bread but I eat it every day for breakfast (very boring breakfast eater) and I haven't reacted any other time. I suppose it's just wait and see if it happens again and see if I can find a link.
