Possible cmpi advice needed desperately please

I'm close to breaking point. My 6 month old cries all the time. Angry screaming day and night. He won't be left alone on a playmat or similar.

All naps are disasters, night time sleep has never been good but has hit an all time low.

We spent 8 weeks on hypoallergenic formula. Tried a couple of brands at first and settled on neocate for 5 weeks. Things gradually got worse during that time until he was screaming and refusing to drink. One day I only got 12oz into him and he threw up twice.

I tried thickening, gaviscon and carobel. He's also on omeprazole for reflux (tried ranitidine and domperidone too).

Last week out of desperation we switched back to cow and gate anti reflux. We had a good few days but now it's all very very bad. He cries all the time day and night.

I feel like I'm unraveling. He happily guzzles 32oz a day of regular formula but is miserable. He drinks way too little hypoallergenic formula. Still cries all day but sleeps.

Can anyone offer any advice or comfort? I have been holding on for 6 months expecting to have seen some improvement but he truth is everything is just as bad as it's always been.

Have you seen a paediatrician or dietician or allergy specialist? Have you started weaning?

It sounds awful so you have my sympathies. There are some fab cmpa Facebook groups where you might get good advice, although if he was still bad on neocate I wonder if he needs further medical investigation.

Thanks I have tried them but I feel like I hit a brick wall every where I turn. I got one response on Facebook and unfortunately it wasn't helpful.

We have been referred to a dietician but the wait has been so long. Baby was 8 weeks when gp requested it and he'll be 30 weeks when we finally get to go.

It's possible he's refusing the neocate because he doesn't like the taste...though if he's throwing it up that would suggest it's something more. What other formulas have you tried? Are his bowel movements normal?

I'm pretty sure he doesn't like the taste. We were given similac alimentum first. Then nutramigen then aptamil pepti. He basically wouldn't drink any of those. He started ok on neocate 5oz or so per feed but in the end it was a struggle to get 3oz in him.

He drinks 8oz bottles of anti reflux milk.

His poop is normal thick and yellow on anti reflux milk. It was khaki and like water on Neocate

I also tried adding nesquick to the neocate as I heard it can help but it didn't. I thought as it's so watery and he was vomiting every feed again it might be reflux flaring but thickening didn't stop it coming up.

We mixed crusha sugar free milkshake syrup into Neocate

The hypoallergenic formula does taste horrible. I know people that have mixed a little vanilla extract in it to improve the taste - maybe see if that helps? I know the situation seems hopeless right now, but you will get to the bottom of it and your child will be well again. I know how hard it is and I'm sorry you are going through this.
