Unexpected reaction

So I've developed a number of adult-onset allergies to various plants, trees and foodstuffs (initially was convinced I was losing my mind or that I was being a bit precious, but blood and prick tests proved I was not). I've been super-careful to avoid the allergens since.

About a week or so ago, I had a completely unexpected (and quite bad) reaction to a completely different food - I was lucky I only had a tiny bit of it otherwise I think I'd have probably had to go to hospital. I'm not sure what to do now - would it be silly to ask for a test to 'prove' that I'm allergic to this thing, or should I just add it to the list and carry on? Kind of worried that now I'm going to develop another bloody new allergy every few months!

What was the food? In the same family as others you are allergic to?
