Eek, essential oils allergy

Yikes, I put some orange essential oil in my bath as a "treat" and have had to leap out after a few minutes because my legs are on fire.
They're bright red and really prickly and sore - I've put on some coconut oil but not really sure what else to do.
Any solutions to ease the itch? Just wanted a nice stress free bath Blush

One would usually dilute any essential oil in a "carrier oil" before using it in a bath or other beauty preparation. It's too strong to use neat.

Antihistamines?

schrutefarmbeets · 08/12/2016 07:40

Ach I didn't read the back properly to pre-mix with oil. Only put a few drops in but still.
I took some antihistamine and it's fine this morning, won't make that mistake again! Thanks xx

How much did you put in?

I don't use a carrier oil if it's for the bath, but obviously everyone's skin reacts differently.

Hope you are better today! Flowers

Only 5/6 drops to the whole bath :( took a couple of minutes for me to start itching like crazy. Maybe it was because it was a citrus based one?
Thankfully feeling less scratchy this morning!
