ds2 (7) tested allergic to dogs, that was 3 years ago and since then has kept away from them.

could it be possible that he is now o.k or is it once allergic to dogs always allergic?

He may well grow out of it, DD was allergic to cats but seems to have grown out of it.

we would really love a dog, thing is it would be awful to get one and have to get rid wouldn't it

As a child my sister was allergic to dogs, but has now grown out of it.

Why don't you have him tested again?

My brother was allergic to cats and/or dogs as a child (I don't remember which), but was fine with them from mid-teens on. I was allergic to certain fish as a child and am fine with them now.
