Please Help Itchy Eczema any advice

My husband is under stress at the moment with work and he has broken out in eczema on his chest. He went to the doctor who gave him a cream called Daktacort. However the cream hasn't worked, it eased the itching but once he finished using the cream the itching continued. Now he won't go back to the doctors. Therefore can anyone help with any advice with over the counter or home remedies????? He doesn't normally suffer with eczema at least not since he was a small child. Yet the doctor said that stress can trigger it off??
Many thanks in advance

E45 Anti Itch is great

Oh - and yes, stress can definitely trigger it off. DH's is far worse when he's worried about something. He doesn't show it outwardly but his hands break out badly so I can always tell

I get stress-related eczema (really flaring up now am pg ) and was initially given Daktacort, but found the best thing was plain old aqueous cream - buy a huge tub of the unbranded stuff for £1.99 or whatever it is over the counter and really slather it on.

It won't cure it but it moisturises and stops the itching, and will make it bearable till the stressful period is over.

Also check the shower gels etc he's using - I've had to switch to really gentle bland ones (grr at unused luxury Christmas gifts).

Iklboo & Mrs Badger I can't thank you enough. I'll definitely check the shower gel as well. I'll get some after the school run -many thanks

Aveeno with Menthol is fab. Might even help with clearing it up as well as stopping the itching. Boots sell it although a little on the expensive, but deffo worth it!
