Perimenopause allergies?

For the past year or so I've had a dripping nose that comes & goes. Regularly congested. Terribly itchy eyes & nose after staying at friend's house with 3 cats. All a bit surprising after 48 years without a single allergy. What's up with this? Could it be Perimenopause related?

Oh could you be me? I've just posted a new thread. I'm constantly snotty and itchy eyes and nose and throat but not all at once and don't know what starts it. I have a cat and even if I bury my face in his fur, it doesn't bother me but other times, for no apparent reason I feel terrible whether I'm in the house or out, sleeping in my own bed or in a hotel or wherever.
