Hi, I'm new here so sorry if I'm in the wrong place!
My son has just turned 6 months and has had bad eczema for about 8 weeks now. We finally saw a specialist after being referred and she has given us doublebase (which seems to be great he has baby soft skin again) and two different steroids. Hydrocortisone 1% for all over face and Eumovate for all over his body. And some dermol for the bath. Within 2 days of using all of these he looked back to normal! She said to carry on for 10 days anyway then to gradually come off the steroids. But on day five he started to get a small flare up on his face and now on day 8 his face is awful and it spreading again on other parts of his body. But we are still on the steroid? Which is why I am confused. It's also spread to nappy area which was absolutely fine before. I feel completely disheartened and don't know what to do :( we have blood tests booked for next week to test for allergies and in meantime I've cut out dairy, soya and eggs from my diet. His skin is still baby soft but the flare ups are like little pimples everywhere.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
