Non-soya, soya sauce alternative

I love soya sauce - it does not love me, I used to use it in lots of meals & I miss it

Worcestershire sauce is OK but not the same; what could I use as an alternative?

Tamari?

Watching with interest.

I'm allergic to soya and nuts and haven't found a good replacement for soya sauce.

For stir fries I just use lots of garlic and chilli for flavour.

I've read that vegemite can be used to get the same umami effect as soya in sauces etc. but I haven't got around to trying it yet.

I've just looked up tamari and it seems to also be made from soya beans.

Gluten free, soy free miso exists and could be watered down for a soy flavour.

I mix balsamic vinegar, sesame oil and fish sauce - think the ratio is 2:2:1 (I'd have to look it up to be sure sorry) and my kids love it instead of soy sauce - it's surprisingly close!
