Cheap antihistamines

Can anyone recommend any over the counter antihistamines? Hayfever has hit me like a train today and unfortunately my budget won't stretch to the £3 for 7 tablets I had to buy in a pinch from superdrug . A bit wary of buying online without recommendations. In previous years I've been given them on prescription but I can't really afford unnecessary prescription charges now I have to pay for them

Ask your pharmacist for the generic ones which contain the ingredient in your regular ones- far cheaper

I get them for DH on ebay or Amazon in bulk. The type he uses is really cheap, I think it's £1.70 for 30 tablets, it's cetirizine hydrochloride, Sainsburys do them cheap aswell, I think it's under £3 for 30. Benadryl is the only antistamine brand that does not have cheap versions, it's just always expensive.

You can get generic loratidine cheap too in the supermarkets. It depends which ones work for you. I find cetirizine a total waste of time.

Boots often has generic Loratidine and Cetirizine on a buy-one-get-one-half-price. I like Cetirizine for me and Loratidine for DS1.

I think Superdrug and even Poundland have had them in the past. Oldest ds, 22, has hay fever, among many other allergies and has sourced his anti-histamines from many cheap shops and been fine. They've been Loratidine or Cetirizine based.

Tesco own ones are fab! 14 for about £3 ish and they're really good!

Buy generic loratadine on line. You can get a 33 month supply for less than £10.

Ive used chemist direct before and never had any problems.

I've just bought Galpharm(?) loratidine from Boots at £2.99 for 30 one a day tablets. They also do Certirizine hydrochloride.

Zirtek is cetirizine hydrochloride. Clarityn is lo rationed. Pirton (older style, effective but can cause drowsiness) is chlorphenamine something. Buy it by the drug name rather than the trade name, but still shop around, as most supermarketsuccessful and pharmacies will do own-brand ones, but there can still be a great variation in price.
