Dr prescribed Aveeno Lotion for ds suffering from ezcema. Is this the best one to use (it doesn't seem to be specifically for babies) or are there other Aveeno products better suited to babies. Also is cream better than lotion or vice versa ?

DS has Dermol (prescribed by dermatologist - along with Junior Oilatum for bath) which work well and seem to keep his skin more or less under control. A mum pal with a daughter with eczema gave us some Aveeno bath gunge, but we didn't try the Aveeno lotion - this mum said it seemed to hurt her daughter's skin when first applied. The Aveeno bath additive smells lovely but it does leave the bath absolutely minging!

i use aveeno lotion on both my dds as its the only one that sinks into the skin really quickly without too much of an oily residue. great for after the bath and in these cold conditions. i also have Junior Oilatum for the bath.

we also have eperiderm which i use sometimes (when the aveeno runs out), which i think is great if it wasnt so oily. their skin feels great in the morning and really works. it looks and feels like pure oil.

hope this helps

Lots of people recommended aveno so I got some for dd2. sadly for her it actually made her skin red and she cried that it was stinging. It works for alot of people thoiugh.
