Eczema and chicken pox, question

Dd (6) has had pretty bad eczema on the inside of her elbows for the last 3 years, it has flare ups, but is always slightly there in between the angry stages.

She got chicken pox last week, and her arms became the worst affected area. However, now the spots have started to scab and fade and underneath her skin is miraculously smooth and normal. There is only a teeny area (less than a thumbnail) of dry skin.

Can chickenpox eat away the eczema???? Or will it come back? I thought it might have been due to the gel (virasoothe) we were applying but Dr google tells me that chickenpox can reset the body's immune response and stop eczema. Is this true?

It would be great if true, my five year old is recovering from chicken pox and still scabby so it's hard to tell. It was hard to tell if she had chicken pox in the first place as they weren't typical blisters but looked like little cuts from her usual scratching. My youngest now has the pox and is much worse with far more spots, especially on the face, and they are proper blisters which are far more sore and itchy than her elder sibling. Eczema seems to have reduced the severity, I feared it would be the opposite. Although we haven't lived through the scabbing over with our youngest yet, our eldest' scabs were large and some quite deep, she's still pulling them off while scratching and there's some potential scars we need to treat to help heal them.

I have heard that theory before so I guess it works for some.

Unfortunately not for mine.
