How do you make them feel full up without wheat or dairy?

Hi, not sure if anyone will be with me on this one but I thought it was worth a try.

DS can't eat dairy or soya. I don't feel it is healthy to eat much wheat.

So many puddings/desserts are wheat and dairy - custard, crumble, pies, yoghurt etc. When they've finished the main course I often feel at a loss. I've tried rice milk custard and it was no good. I've tried rice milk rice pudding and it wasn't very good. All those fill you up things seem out of my reach. Any thoughts/ideas?

rice and wheat free pasta good fillers cottage pie, bolognase wih wheat free pasta

my dh eats baked beans and rice yuk tio fill himself up

for puddings - what about using oat based recipes, instead of wheat ones?

i wouldn't worry too much about puddings. make sure he eats a good dinner and then just do fruit salad or jelly or something for pudding.
you could also make things like flapjacks as a treat.

fruit crumbles made with oats and no flour, ground nuts and brown sugar... I make them loads and they are fab..

as long as your not bothgered about gluten if your avoiding gluten oats are no good

I don't usually have yeast. I have brown rice very often. Potatoes too.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'd forgotten about flapjacks, they're good. And oat based crumble topping I like the sound of that although I can't do the nuts. Food for thought
